100 Days of Advocacy

The 100 Days of Advocacy Plan aims to reinforce the important role that LeadingAge members and state partners play in advocating for aging services policies with policymakers at federal, state, and local levels.

Overview

The next 100 days will be critical for our national advocacy efforts as the new Congress and administration roll up their sleeves and get to work. We must ensure that our key issues are on their policy agendas right away. And that’s why your voice and stories matter so much. Policymakers rely on your experience when making key decisions.

Over the coming weeks and months, we’ll continue to call on you to help us reach lawmakers on Capitol Hill. The issues facing aging services providers are wide-ranging and complex. COVID-19’s disproportionate toll on older adults and the people who care for them further reinforces the urgency of our advocacy activities. The pandemic has wreaked havoc in communities around the country and its impact will be felt for decades to come.

Advocacy Action Center

Part of being good stewards for aging services means advocating for policies that remove barriers to care, develop new services, improve reimbursement, and make America a better place to grow old. LeadingAge's advocacy team tracks legislation and regulatory updates to make sure that policymakers understand how changes will impact our members and the people they serve. But we can't do it without you. Your work as an advocate is crucial to motivating legislators and other policymakers. Visit the LeadingAge Advocacy Action Center and access a range of tools that summarize the issues, provide sample letters, and help you contact your members of Congress.

Make Your Voice Heard

We make it easy to contact your policymakers. Make your voice heard today. We're urging people to tell Congress that they must pass expanded COVID relief. Check back often for new opportunities to call your congresspeople.

Save the Date: April 21, 2021 -- Virtual Lobby Day

Because of COVID-19, LeadingAge has decided to cancel the 2021 Leadership Summit. While we are disappointed we can't be together, we will be coordinating virtual congressional visits for members around the country on April 21. Every year, Summit attendees can visit with their lawmakers on Capitol Hill. This year, we'll be planning and hosting Lobby Day from the comfort of our home offices. Stay tuned for more information but be sure to mark your calendars now. If you have any questions, please contact Joe Franco.

2021 Policy Priorities

LeadingAge announces the 2021 Policy Priorities. Take a moment to familiarize yourself with these important topics. You’ll be hearing more about them as the Congressional agenda unfolds and we ask you to raise your voice in support of policies that better serve older adults now and into the future.
