Celebrating Love in Aging Services: #CareIsLove

Join us this Thursday, February 11 through Sunday, February 14 in celebrating the bonds of love that grow throughout aging services. Starting tomorrow, LeadingAge will transform our social accounts into a #CareIsLove celebration. To make it easy to participate, we’re providing customizable social graphics including profile banners and photoframe cards, sample social posts, and op-ed, press advisory and pitch call templates for members. Print out our Valentine’s Day template cards to have residents and staff color and write meaningful messages to each other. Use the materials on this page to join us in spreading the love this Valentine’s Day.

He’ll also provide tips on how to work with staff to increase trust regarding the vaccine. On Thursday, Evan Shulman, Director of the Division of Nursing Homes, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, will answer questions about how CMS is approaching any changes in visitation guidance, talk about current recommendations, and answer questions. CEO Roundtable: Ethics and Equity During a Pandemic

What are your organization’s responsibilities when distributing treatments and vaccines? How can individual autonomy be balanced with restrictions that are designed to protect public health? Get answers and actionable advice to these and other questions during our February 25 live roundtable event, designed for CEOs and executive directors. Led by bioethicist Dr. Michael Gillette, the interactive training will address the complex ethical challenges COVID-19 has brought to our field and provide the framework you’ll need to make ethical and equitable decisions for your entire organization. Register today.

Understanding Unconscious Bias

Inherent and unfair judgements can prevent your organization from fully reflecting the dignity and worth of its staff and residents. In this 11-minute QuickCast, Ayana King outlines how unconscious bias appears in the workplace and how it creates a barrier to building diverse and inclusive teams. Watch today and explore other DEI content in the LeadingAge Learning Hub.
