A Message From Our Board Chair

LeadingAge Board Chair, Carol Silver Elliott, offers this message to members about moving forward.

I would contend that we have to shift from being reactive to being proactive, to thinking about the future and defining our preferred future. We know that there will be dramatic increases in the number of older adults. We also know that their needs and preferences will not be the same as the generation who preceded them. How do we anticipate their needs? How do we begin to rethink and retool so that we stay both relevant and viable?

Global Ageing Network COVID-19 Report

Earlier this month, the Global Ageing Network released a report, “Elder Care Providers & COVID-19: Cross-Cultural Perspectives.” The report, a summary of interviews with providers and others in a dozen countries who have shared their COVID experiences, offers lessons and observations for next steps and illustrates how providers care for and support older adults. It serves as a chronicle of the 2020 provider experiences, offers lessons and observations for next steps, and exemplifies how providers care for and support older adults build the societies we now enjoy.

Save the Date: Virtual Long-Term Care and the Law Meeting

LeadingAge and the American Health Law Association are co-sponsoring an upcoming meeting with leading experts for the long-term care industry presenting on legal, compliance, and operational issues facing providers. Sessions will focus on cutting edge issues that are front and center within the post-acute continuum for Skilled nursing, assisted living, and home health providers.
