LeadingAge Awarded Grant to Advance Nursing Home Improvements and Reform

The John A. Hartford Foundation awarded a $1 million grant to LeadingAge to implement strategies to improve nursing home care in America. The grant aims to put recommendations into action from the recently released NASEM report The National Imperative to Improve Nursing Home Quality: Honoring Our Commitment to Residents, Families, and Staff. New Member Network: Adult Day and HCBS

LeadingAge members have an opportunity to join peers and colleagues with similar interests through LeadingAge Member Networks. National staff members convene and organize the groups, which are open to all provider members. We recently launched an Adult Day and Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Network for members who provide adult day services, meals, personal care, transportation, and other HCBS. Email Meredith Chillemi or Mollie Gurian with questions and sign up for the network to participate.


Convention on the Rights of Older Persons

Yesterday, LeadingAge joined five leading national organizations on aging in a letter asking the U.S. Ambassador to the U.N., Linda Thomas-Greenfield, to support the adoption of a United Nations Convention on the Rights of Older Persons. Learn more and read the letter.


Act Fast! Nominations for LeadingAge Awards Deadline is Friday

Time is running out to nominate a colleague for the LeadingAge Annual Awards, which honor individuals who embody excellence in mission-focused aging services and merit national recognition. Nominations are being accepted in three categories: Award of Honor, RWJF Award for Health Equity presented by LeadingAge, and Joan Anne McHugh Award for Leadership in LTSS Nursing. The deadline for nominations is Friday, June 17, so learn more and submit for your exceptional colleagues today.
