LeadingAge Need to Know: Monday, July 19, 2021

We are sharing the very latest with members with weekday morning email updates on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and live online updates on Monday and Wednesday.

Following are the latest news and resources.

Annual Meeting Registration is Open
It’s time to reconnect at the 2021 LeadingAge Annual Meeting + EXPO. Our collective power is made greater through sharing, learning, and collaboration–so join us for the conversations and connections that will help us navigate our field, forever transformed by the last year. We’ll get ideas and answers from the experts and from each other. This is where progress begins–and you need to be a part of it. Watch a video from LeadingAge Board Chair Carol Silver Elliott and register today.

Your Stories Matter: It's Time to Tell Them
Stories can teach, build empathy, engender trust, and generate support; compelling stories stay with people long after figures and charts have been forgotten. LeadingAge leverages the stories of our members—for advocacy, media, and member-to-member communications. With support from LeadingAge Gold Partner Greystone, we’re collecting stories that demonstrate the humanity and direct impact of our work. See our FAQs for information on how the Story Collector works, and tips on how to get the most out of the tool. Submit your story today.

Integrating Health and Housing for Low-Income Older Adults
A new report released by Community Catalyst in partnership with the LeadingAge LTSS Center @UMass Boston outlines policy options to improve the integration of health care services with affordable housing for low-income older adults! This study echoes the LTSS Center @UMass Boston’s previous work in finding that, while there is great interest and energy around creating strategies and models that link affordable senior housing communities with services to support resident well being, there are barriers to replication.

2021 Global Ageing Network Summit
Our global community of providers support each other by sharing experiences, strategies, and solutions. This past year has shown us the importance of connection and learning from one another. The more we can expand and strengthen our global network, the greater our ability to address issues of quality, access, innovation and equity—in care practices, prevention, wellness, and living arrangements. The 2021 Global Ageing Network Summit, in partnership with GAN South Korea, will bring together providers, thought leaders, and those working in the aged care sector for a two-day interactive, virtual experience. Join us September 7-8, 2021. Learn more and register today.
