We are sharing the very latest with members with weekday morning email updates and live online updates. Please note, there will not be an online update today or an email update Thursday and Friday due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Visit the main coronavirus page anytime.

Following are the latest news and resources.

Thanksgiving Message to Members
As we head into the Thanksgiving weekend, many of our members have shared the ways you’re making this holiday meaningful and fun for your residents and clients—despite the challenges of COVID. I am humbled by your dedication and care. You somehow are finding the time and energy to pay thoughtful attention to the people in your communities this Thanksgiving, all while fighting a pandemic without all of the support and resources you need.

Thank you for the joy you’re bringing to the older adults you serve in what may be the hardest days of their lives—and yours. I am once again reminded that the work you do every day isn’t just about services and health care—it’s about home, lifting spirits, and helping older adults live life to the fullest. Whether it’s an aide visiting a private residence, an independent living community where older adults move in and stay many years, or a nursing home delivering intimate, daily care in a resident’s own room, the pandemic has made it ever more clear how much like family you are to so many older Americans.

LeadingAge is doing all we can to ensure that you can continue to provide this vital care. In addition to our ongoing advocacy and media efforts, and educational resources in our Learning Hub and the new Pandemic Playbook, we are also making a plea to the public this holiday season. In an open letter, we are asking all Americans to take a few simple precautions to help ensure we don’t add more lives to the horrific COVID-19 death toll. With this call to action, signed onto by many of your state association leaders, LeadingAge adds yet another voice to the chorus of those seeking greater safety for everyone as the holidays approach.

Thank you again for all that you do. This Thanksgiving I am grateful for you.
