Insights and Tools From LeadingAge
CMS announced upcoming requirements for nursing home reporting of COVID-19 on Sunday. Read an overview of the expected new rules and what it means for providers. While LeadingAge continues to support nursing home reporting, we are concerned with key points of this new announcement. Read our press statement covering our position. We will continue providing updates as they are available.

Life is very different now than it was two months ago, but housing providers continue to support older adults in their communities. Here are highlights of key federal resources for affordable housing residents dealing with the health and economic crisis. (Pro tip: many of these resources also could be helpful for clients or residents in other settings.)

Everyday, LeadingAge staff experts are developing essential guidance and tools, and curating the most relevant COVID-19-related resources for aging services providers. A complete timeline of insights, tools, and useful links is available here, so you’ll never miss an update.

The Career Center is Gaining Momentum
As you know, LeadingAge is partnering with major national employers to connect displaced workers from fields such as dining, retail, and hospitality with available jobs in aging services. As of this week, there are over 1,320 job opportunities posted on the LeadingAge Aging Services Career Center. Add your openings to the list! Learn more about how to post your jobs for FREE.

COVID-19 Learning Tool Is $5 for Two Weeks
NextStep’s informal COVID-Ready Caregiver online course is designed to improve the safety of caregivers working with COVID-19 patients in all settings. Through May 2, staff at LeadingAge members can use code LEADINGAGE5 at check-out to access the program for just $5.

Negative Narratives in the Media
In the face of the coronavirus pandemic, we all are forced to continue to fight long-standing, negative narratives. When it comes to the media, it’s critical to provide grounding and context that frames the realities of your organization and our field. We have developed a set of talking points that you can use to provide the valuable, and often underrepresented, provider point of view. In addition, LeadingAge is speaking out in the media to give decision makers and the public accurate information on the novel coronavirus' impact on our field. Here’s how we are responding to negative views on aging services during the pandemic.
