Standing Proud: A Message From Our Board Chair
LeadingAge Board Chair, Carol Silver Elliott, offers this message to members on the ways in which we are supporting one another, our elders, and our staff.

I know that each of you, and your staff, bring your best selves to the elders we serve, putting your own anxieties aside. You do that every day, taking a deep breath, squaring your shoulders and doing what needs to be done.

Read the entire message from Carol now—and join us on today’s live update to hear more from Carol and also from Lisa Sanders, Media Relations Manager of LeadingAge.

National Day of Action for Aging Services
LeadingAge has successfully advocated for provisions and policies that directly help members maintain operations while providing the best care and services during the pandemic. Today, hundreds of LeadingAge staff, state executives and members from across the country would have descended on Washington D.C., for meetings with members of Congress as part of our annual Lobby Day. Of course, we cannot be on Capitol Hill in person today, but we’re still fighting for you. Join us and make your voice heard! Contact your representative on this National Day of Action for Aging Services.

New Advocacy Happening This Week
We continue to aggressively pursue the elimination of the new reporting requirement that CMS announced for nursing homes. Last night, we sent this letter to HHS Secretary Alex Azar and CMS Administrator Seema Verma, urging that they rescind the requirement because it will increase consumer confusion and nursing home staff burden.

We also sent a letter to HHS Secretary Alex Azar to get answers and clarification about the Provider Relief Fund, seeking clarity and assurance on our members behalf.
