A Message From Our Board Chair
Carol Silver Elliott offers this message to members about staying positive.

Being positive does not mean being unrealistic or pretending that everything is fine when it isn’t. But being positive, to me, is a key component of leadership. It’s the behavior that we model that helps others get through tough times. It’s the attitude that we project that calms people and reassures them that this, too, shall pass.

Read the entire message from Carol on a lesson she learned from her mother. And read this well-deserved praise of Carol from McKnight's this morning: “This is how you lead during a pandemic.” We are incredibly proud to have this leader on our team!

Join Us: Act For Older Adults!
Yesterday’s media event launched the Act For Older Adults campaign. LeadingAge president and CEO Katie Smith Sloan was joined by Steve Fleming from WellSpring in NC and COL Paul Bricker from Knollwood in DC. Participating press including reporters from ABC news, WAMU – DC public radio, Wall Street Journal, Senior Housing News, and others. Materials are available now, including remarks from Katie, a media statement, and a recording of the event.

The trade media immediately picked up the story:

We hope you’ll join us in calling on residents, clients, families and all American’s to join this fight. Visit the campaign web page at leadingage.org/act, which features links to contact Congress, social posts, campaign messages and more. We’ll continue to add to these materials.
