Show the Love: Hearts for Direct Care Workers
Help us send love and thanks to care workers on Direct Care Worker Appreciation Day! On July 30, six months after the day the World Health Organization declared coronavirus a global health emergency, we invite all Americans to acknowledge those who have gone above and beyond to protect the health and well-being of older adults during this pandemic.
These frontline workers show up each day to serve older adults in nursing homes, assisted living, affordable housing, home health, hospice, and all the places older people receive care. They have continued on for months without recognition for their heroism and compensation for their extraordinary efforts serving older Americans. They have been risking their lives, too often without the equipment they need to protect themselves and the people in their charge.
Join us to show care workers just how much we love them, and ensure that our leaders in Congress see our support as they decide whether or not to fund care worker relief in the next legislation package.
On Thursday, we’ll flood social media with #Hearts4CareWorkers. Post your notes, pictures, or videos of hearts on social media as a thank you to direct care workers for all that they’ve done to help older adults during the pandemic.
