LeadingAge States and Members Tell Congress to Get Back to Work
We held another national-local media event on Friday as part of our Act For Older Adults campaign, telling leaders: “COVID-19 Is Not Taking A Summer Recess—Neither Should You.” Katie Smith Sloan, president and CEO of LeadingAge, was joined by state association executives and members from Indiana, Missouri, Montana, and Ohio. Leaders from these states discussed the grim challenges they are facing and called on Congress to take the steps needed to protect millions of older adults from the worst pandemic in a century.

We released a new fact sheet and infographic on the immediate need for access and funding for rapid-response testing (both of which you can reuse with local media), as well as new “Situation Reports” on Indiana, Missouri, Montana, and Ohio. You can see a full release and the telepresser recording, as well as early coverage from Cleveland, OH and McKnight’s Long Term Care News.
