New Report: Making Care Pay Work
As members on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic know better than most, direct care workers are critically important to our nation’s health—but they are not usually valued accordingly. A new LeadingAge study, Making Care Pay Work, offers a glimpse into a different world in which direct care workers earn at least a living wage. The research demonstrates that the single action of paying direct care workers a living wage has the power to reduce staff shortages and turn-over, improve productivity and quality of care, infuse billions of dollars into local economies, and offer financial security and independence of care workers themselves. Read the full report now before we launch to the field later this month.

Deadline Approaching: CARES Act Payments for Service Coordinators
CARES Act awards for grant-funded Service Coordinators are now available from HUD. LeadingAge posted instructions to apply for the payments, and will host a call with HUD staff tomorrow, Wednesday, 9/8 at 2pm to answer member questions.
