In addition to our work at the national level on LTSS financing reform, LeadingAge is working with individual states to initiate discussions about reform at the state level and implement new policies. Possible state actions include:
- Awareness/education
- Re-energize long-term care insurance and other private market options
- Public insurance or health insurance and medicare
- Medicaid reform or regulatory changes
To date, the following 11 states have worked on LTSS reform at the state level:
- California
- Indiana
- Iowa
- Hawaii
- Kansas
- Massachusetts
- Minnesota
- Nebraska
- Ohio
- Texas
- Washington
