FCC’s Modernized Lifeline Program to Support Affordable Broadband
A 30-year-old federal program designed to give low-income people access to affordable telephone service just entered the digital age. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced in late March that it is modernizing its Lifeline program so it can focus on helping low-income consumers access the Internet.
