In August, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) published its most recent data (from 2021) on tenants of low income housing tax credit (LIHTC) units. Nationally, 36% of LIHTC units have at least one household member at least 62 years old, up from 33% in 2019 data. LeadingAge advocates for the expansion and improvement of the LIHTC program as an importance source of affordable housing funding.
