Two state-by-state analyses released July 1, 2025 demonstrate the effects of the Senate passed reconciliation package.
- State Health & Value Strategies partnered with Manatt to release estimates, by state, of cuts in each of the House and Senate passed versions. The resource includes written analysis and a spreadsheet with a tables showing hospital cuts, coverage loss, and district-by-district. Their analysis compares losses for each state across the two versions allowing states to assess which bill would be worse in their state.
- KFF released their own brief estimating Medicaid losses by state and by the bill’s major provisions. According to a graphic, WY and AL would see 6% reductions in federal Medicaid spending in their states, while Louisiana and Virginia would lose 21% of their current federal Medicaid funding if the Senate bill were to become law. Data from the estimates are available and include both low and high estimates for federal reductions depending upon policy decisions states make. This can be downloaded via the link under the map graphic.
