PointClickCare Launches Discharge Intel, Setting New Standard for Transitions of Care
PointClickCare, a LeadingAge Gold Partner with CAST Focus and leading health tech company helping providers deliver exceptional care, has announced the launch of Discharge Intel, a purpose-built solution powered by artificial intelligence designed to give health plans timely clinical intelligence within 24 hours of hospital discharge. “This isn’t about more data, it’s about giving care teams ‘in-the-moment’ insights that change outcomes, reduce avoidable costs, and improve the patient experience,” said David Pessis, chief product and technology officer at PointClickCare.
Discharge Intel debuted at the HIMSS 2026 Global Health Conference & Exhibition in Las Vegas March 9-12, 2026, where PointClickCare led three high-impact sessions and on the exhibit floor showcased how its expansive network is being leveraged to drive real-world outcomes for major health systems and interoperability partners. K4Connect Expands FusionOS Ecosystem
LeadingAge Bronze Partner with CAST Focus K4Connect today announced the expansion of its FusionOS integration ecosystem, adding 14 new integrations in 2025 to the over 50 available, and with many additional key collaborations scheduled for 2026. While others are newly entering the integration conversation, FusionOS has been unifying fragmented technology environments for more than eight years.
Unlike platforms that primarily extract data for limited use cases, FusionOS delivers bi-directional, enterprise-grade data flows; a proprietary “One-to-Many” API framework; normalized, flattened data schemas across vendors; a secure, centralized data lake with direct community access; no-code dashboards for operational leaders; and built-in audit logs and HIPAA-aligned security controls. The National Law Review carried a company release announcing the news.

Ottimate Report Shares Findings on Partial AP Automation, AI, and Fraud
A survey report by LeadingAge Bronze Partner with CAST Focus Ottimate, which provides AP automated solutions, highlights the challenges of partially automating AP processes. Survey respondents included health care organizations as well as ones in retail and hospitality, and 48% found that their accounts payable (AP) automation tools saved few to no costs. Ottimate suggested that partial automation, where an organization uses both technology tools and manual processes, creates challenges for finance teams.
CFO reported on these findings and highlighted the report’s cautions around AI and fraud. “As Al evolves, fraud is getting more sophisticated and harder to detect,” Ottimate’s report said. “The manual processes and disconnected systems that define partial automation make organizations especially vulnerable.”
