In a September 9, 2026 letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator Mehmet Oz and other members of CMS leadership, LeadingAge asks the agency to end the hospice and home health moratoria on new enrollments into the Medicare program. While LeadingAge has supported the moratoria, our position throughout is unchanged: moratoria are blunt enforcement tools that should only be used in the short term.
