In a recent blog, the Department of Labor reminds employers about how the end of the public health emergency (PHE) on May 11 can lead to amendments in coverage for COVID tests and out of network vaccinations, among others. All changes to benefits should be clearly communicated to employees, as some employees may lose health care coverage because of loss of Medicaid eligibility. For these employees, a special enrollment period would exist for enrollment in employer sponsored benefits (for eligible employees).
