CAST Commission Technology Town Hall Meeting Shaped Policy Priorities

During the LeadingAge Annual Meeting & EXPO held Oct. 27-30, 2019, in San Diego, CA, the

CAST Commission held a Technology Policy Town Hall focusing on the legislative and regulatory challenges of adopting technologies. The goal was to identify a robust and inclusive policy agenda for technology in aging services, and the discussion helped shape LeadingAge’s 2020 Technology and Telehealth Policy Priorities.

Read on to see the key takeaways, including these: having access to affordable broadband internet, adopting an electronic health record system and making healthcare data interoperable, removing barriers to expanding telehealth and telemedicine, and more.

I shared my prediction that telehealth will see a resurgence in 2020 thanks to public and private pressures to reduce costs and increase critical access for seniors.
