On June 13, the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission released their June 2024 report to Congress. The annual June report focuses on overarching topics that MedPAC has been studying over the course of a year (or sometimes, many years). This is in contrast to the annual March report that focuses mostly on annual payment updates. A number of chapters in this newest report are of interest to LeadingAge members:
- There are two chapters on the Medicare Advantage program, one on provider networks and prior authorization and a second on measuring health care utilization by MA enrollees.
- A chapter on paying for software technologies in Medicare.
- And a chapter on Medicare’s Acute Hospital at Home demonstration.
We will be reviewing the contents and analyzing further as necessary.
