The National Quality Forum (NQF), formerly the consensus-based entity involved with endorsement of quality measures, is seeking feedback on serious reportable events (SREs). Specifically, NQF seeks comment on a draft revision to inclusion criteria for determining serious reportable events. These revisions will serve as the basis for considering revisions to the Serious Reportable Events list, last updated in 2011.
Funded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, this project seeks to develop a unified, consensus-based list that will reflect evolutions in health care delivery and foster alignment of definitions and terminologies. It is important to note that this work could impact incident reporting in nursing homes and other settings.
