As part of LeadingAge’s collaboration with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on the Risk Less. Do More. campaign, a team of HHS representatives, on site at Annual Meeting October 27-30 in Nashville, distributed social media materials, handouts, and more to attendees for sharing with older adults in their communities and the health care providers and staff that serve them. Risk Less. Do More. signage also greeted the 6,100-plus attendees on video screens in the Music City Center and during the October 29 keynote session.
HHS representatives at the booth confirmed that conference attendees were very receptive about having new resources available to download and distribute in their communities. Many LeadingAge members shared that they are hosting vaccine clinics at their facilities. A recent flu vaccine clinic held by The Slovene Home Skilled Care & Rehabilitation, a LeadingAge member in Cleveland, OH, featured a visit from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Mandy Cohen, M.D.
