The National Council on Aging (NCOA), with funding from the Administration for Community Living (ACL), has announced a new round of technical assistance to support state efforts to strengthen their Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) direct care workforce. Participant states receive targeted technical assistance from subject matter experts to help achieve identified milestones and workforce goals. The 2025 technical assistance opportunities include:
- Direct Care Workforce State Advancement Lab
- Up to 250 hours of customized technical assistance.
- Support from subject matter experts and dedicated coaches.
- Facilitation of cross-agency collaboration to develop actionable plans for workforce recruitment, retention, and growth.
- Peer Learning Collaboratives
- Monthly peer-exchange sessions in groups of 4–6 states.
- Focus on innovative strategies and sharing best practices.
ACL’s Direct Care Workforce Strategies Center hosted an informational webinar outlining the opportunities and the application process, which closes June 6, 2025. LeadingAge members are encouraged to share this valuable resource with interested state partners.
