Working together, the two companies will provide iN2L’s senior living community customers with one-touch, integrated access to a wide variety of streaming content available on the Saltbox TV app through their iN2L group engagement systems. Residents in more than 3,700 communities will benefit from exclusive access to senior-focused programming on iN2L engagement systems. McKnight’s Senior Living reported the news.

With simple iN2L home screen access to Saltbox TV, residents and care providers can explore a broad range of genres such as lifelong learning, lifestyle, wellness, nostalgic television, movies and more that appeal to a wide variety of interests.
Acts Retirement-Life Communities and K4Connect Partner on Integrated Senior Living Community Experience
Acts Retirement-Life Communities (Acts), a LeadingAge CAST Patron and one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit senior living organizations, launched K4Connect’s premier senior living solution, K4Community, across several of its communities in 2020. Acts has plans to continue the rollout to additional Acts campuses, potentially reaching over 8,500 residents and staff throughout 2021. Key to the partnership is K4Connect’s underlying FusionOS technology—the company’s patented operating system that will unlock a truly integrated, company-wide technology experience for Acts.
Acts is the owner, operator, and developer of 26 resort-style senior living continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) with campuses across nine states. The organization elected K4Connect to help lead its resident and staff-focused innovation strategy through the implementation of K4Community, an ecosystem of value-driven technology modules and experiences designed for senior living community residents, staff, and operators.
In 2021, Acts’ K4Community deployment will include several modules: K4Community Resident Check-In (RCI), K4Community Smart Home, K4Community Plus, and K4Community Voice. PRNewswire carried the news.
Asbury Communities Launches ThriveWell IT Company
LeadingAge CAST Patron Asbury Communities, which operates eight continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee, has launched ThriveWell, an information technology outsourcing and consulting company.
ThriveWell builds on Asbury’s larger strategy to be an industry leader in technology, said Senior Housing News. One impetus for the new company is that when the pandemic struck, some providers had underinvested in technology and could not pivot smoothly to tech-enabled operations. “‘A Lot of Groups Are Suffering’: Inside Asbury’s Tech Strategy and ThriveWell’s Launch” shares details.
ThriveWell’s managed service provider (MSP) 2.0 model is a new offering in the market, said the article. It is “a cloud-enabled platform that incorporates advanced automation tools and other efficient resources” in order to help senior living providers lower costs, improve return on investment, and future-proof their business, according to the press release announcing ThriveWell’s launch. ThriveWell clients can choose among six customizable service packages.
