The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued communications on January 30 notifying providers of exceptions to quality reporting program (QRP) requirements for providers in designated areas affected by Public Health Emergencies and disaster declarations.

Providers in designated areas in Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee received an extension of previously-granted exceptions due to the Hurricane Helene disaster declaration. Providers in designated areas in California received exceptions due to the California Wildfires and Straight-Line Winds disaster declaration. Programs reporting deadlines impacted by these exceptions are as follows:

• Home Health QRP: Q3 2024 submission deadline 02/18/2025
• SNF QRP: Q3 2024 submission deadline 02/18/2025
• Hospice QRP: Q4 2024
