The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has updated exclusion criteria for the Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) Turnover measure on Care Compare. CMS updated the criteria to exclude measures for nursing homes submitting Payroll Based Journal (PBJ) data reporting five or more administrators on four or more days during one quarter, as CMS categorized them as an erroneously high number of administrators (likely due to errors in reporting).
Previously, the measure was excluded for nursing homes submitting PBJ data with five or more administrators on 12 or more days during a three-quarter period. Read more about these changes in the Care Compare Nursing Home Five-Star Quality Rating Technical Users’ Guide.
