The Congressional Research Service (CRS), the nonpartisan research staff for Congress, released two updated resources for members of Congress and the public to better understand Who Pays for Long-Term Services and Supports? and an Overview of Long-Term Services and Supports.

These updated fact sheets include 2024 data on rates of different types of long-term services and supports (LTSS) including adult day, home health, assisted living, and nursing homes. Medicaid remains the largest payer of LTSS, accounting for 45.6% of spending on the services in 2023.
