In line with President Trump’s recent Executive Orders (EOs) and other policies around artificial intelligence and other issues, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on December 19, 2025 issued a “Request for Information: Accelerating the Adoption and Use of Artificial Intelligence as part of Clinical Care,” which will be published in the Federal Register on December 23 with comments due 60 days later, on February 20.
HHS is seeking input on research and development investments and cooperative agreements to integrate AI in care delivery and “create new, long-term market opportunities that improve the health and wellbeing of all Americans.” Additionally, the agency poses 10 questions to respondents to inform its future path related to AI regulation.
While HHS and the Administration express interest in utilizing AI to its fullest potential and to innovate health care, it also, states it intends to protect patient privacy, civil rights and civil liberties.
