The Preliminary July 2026 Interim Performance Reports (IPRs) for the expanded Home Health Value Based Purchasing Model were published on iQIES July 16. The quarterly IPRs provide home health agencies (HHAs) with the cohort assignment, performance year measure data based on measure-specific 12-month and 24-month reporting periods, and the interim Total Performance Score (TPS). Using the IPRs, an HHA can assess and track their performance relative to peers in their respective cohort throughout the expanded Model performance year.
The LeadingAge Home Health Value Based Purchasing Workgroup looks at the program and individual measures in depth every other month which are recorded. Members are encouraged to use this as a resource as you are considering how to improve your performance on specific measures.
In addition to announcing the IPRs, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) shared that the October 2026 IPRs will be the first IPRs to generate improvement, achievement, and care points based on the Calendar Year (CY) 2026 applicable measure set. In previous IPRs, CMS has shared achievement thresholds (AT) and benchmarks (BM) (see “CY 2026 AT and BM” tab) and HHA’s improvement thresholds for the CY 2026 measure set. In the July 2026 IPRs, a preview of CY 2026 applicable measure performance based on the current performance period is provided in the “CY 2026 Performance” tab.
