As reflected on grants.gov, HUD has extended the application deadline for the fiscal year 2023 Section 202 Supportive Housing for Elderly Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to July 18. HUD announced the NOFO on February 21 with an original application deadline of June 20.

While HUD has made available a frequently asked questions document related to the intergenerational housing portion of this NOFO, HUD has yet to post an FAQ regarding the larger, general NOFO. LeadingAge and individual provider pose questions to HUD about the NOFO. While LeadingAge is pleased, absent the FAQ’s clarifications for potential applicants, the deadline has been extended, the extension marks a short delay to building much-needed homes.

The NOFO makes available $115 million for new Section 202 homes, including up to $35 million for intergenerational housing.
