The U.S. Senate on June 10, 2025 confirmed the next critical leadership position at the helm of America’s affordable housing agency. In a vote of 51-43, Andrew Hughes was confirmed as Deputy Secretary for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
According to HUD’s press release, “Hughes will play a vital role in implementing HUD’s mission and managing the day-to-day operations of the department.”
Mr. Hughes previously served as HUD Chief of Staff under the leadership of former HUD Secretary Ben Carson and most recently served as Chief of Staff under current HUD Secretary Scott Turner.
