LeadingAge’s May 12 response to a request by the Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB)—a powerful arm of the executive branch—for information on deregulation call for the reversal or significant change to rules published in the Federal Register and codified in the Code of Federal Regulations.

Our comments, which span several agencies, include specifics related to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) such as: a call to relieve burden and free up resources for additional housing supply by rolling back new domestic procurements under the Build America, Buy America (BABA) Act and a request that HUD streamline duplicative or unnecessary requirements related to previous participation reviews, environmental reviews, Section 8 transfer procedures, Section 202 Capital Advance award processing, and federal labor standard requirements.

LeadingAge is also submitting longer lists of sub-regulatory change suggestions to federal agencies to streamline and better facilitate aging services compliance with statutory requirements.
