LeadingAge joined 104 organizations in sending a letter to Senators Michael Bennet (D-CO) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) and Representatives Mike Carey (R-OH) and Linda Sánchez (D-CA) in support of the bipartisan Credit for Caring Act on February 29. The Credit for Caring Act would establish a non-refundable tax credit of up to $5,000. Eligibility for the tax credit would depend upon a care recipient’s functional and cognitive limitations. The credit would support working families and offset the more than $600 billion in estimated unpaid labor for caregiving annually.
