Connecticut saw a rate increase fr all nursing hmes. The increases will be 2% on July 1, 2019, 1% on October 1, 2020, and 1% on January 1, 2021 and are to be used toward increases in wages and benefits.
Colorado’s state budget includes a 1% increase fr home and community-based service (HCBS) providers, including Medicaid assisted living providers and a targeted rate increase for adult day services (ADS) providers. The targeted rate increase is significant for ADS providers. Depending on the type of waiver, providers will see rate increases between 28 and 50 percent.
Florida’s budget included $15 millin to cover a nursing home rate adjustment.
Georgia’s increase related to dementia – a 1% increase in the add-n to the daily rate for nursing homes with 45% or more residents who meet the cognitive screen. This will equate to $50,000-$80,000 per nursing home for those who meet the qualifications for the add-on.
Iowa legislatrs appropriated $23 million for a nursing facility rebase. While not the $54 million needed, the rebasing funds are a win for providers and represent the largest nursing facility rebase ever in the state.
Kansas has a 1% increase in nursing hme Medicaid rates, a 1.5% increase in home and community-based services rate and an increase in the protected income limit to $1,177 per month. It is currently $747 per month.
Maryland received a 3% increase in Medicaid reimbursement rates.
Missouri recalculated the Medicaid per diem rates when capital expenditures greater than $2,000 per licensed bed are incurred. SNFs & ICFs have an pportunity to rebase rates after capital investment.
Nebraska received an additinal $7.5 million in funding for Nursing facilities.
Oklahoma’s legislature passed a 15% rate increase t nursing homes which will be based on performance metrics. The bill has an effective date of October 1, 2019.
Oregon received a 5% rate increase fr assisted living, residential care facilities, memory care and in-home care agencies effective July 1, 2019 and a second 5% increase on July 1, 2020.
Pennsylvania HCBS waiver prviders received a 2% rate increase to lift wages for direct care workers providing personal care.
South Dakotawas successful in getting a 10% increase in their base Medicaid rate fr nursing homes.
Virginia nursing hmes will be paid 100% of the nursing facility price-based rate for hospice services provided in a nursing home for individuals who have Medicare and/or Medicaid benefits compared to the previous 95%.
Wisconsin’s nursing hmes received a $74 millin increase in Medicaid reimbursement over the next two years. Specifically, the State Budget provides a first-year rate increase of 6%, effective July 1, 2019. In addition, the Medicaid program’s cost-to-continue base would include a 1% nursing home acuity adjustment increase in each year of the biennium. Including the acuity adjustments, nursing facility overall rates will increase by 7% in 2019-20 and 1% in 2020-21.
