AI Features Offer Enhanced Monitoring and Fast Footage Searches
At Meadow Brook MCF, the new AI security system has enabled the team to locate specific people, vehicles, and situations more quickly and accurately. Staff chose the Coram Camera solution from Compass Communications Group to serve the 133-bed skilled nursing community.
The cameras and network video recorders (NVRs) offer sophisticated features such as superior resolution, face and license plate recognition, and the ability to monitor compliance with requirements to wear personal protective equipment. The devices can detect a wide range of issues, from loitering and tailgating to resident falls.
A mobile app interface and custom notifications enable staff to define and monitor certain situations while moving within the community and off-site. Timely notifications empower staff to actively enhance the safety and security of residents, staff, and visitors.
The staff can now conduct faster and more effective searches of recorded footage thanks to on-board AI analytics that categorize specific event types. An AI agent provides statistical data and implements natural language searches. Cloud-enhanced analytics are available for applications requiring higher accuracy. What once required hours of reviewing footage to investigate and chronicle incidents now takes only minutes to enter parameters and search using natural language.
The system even watches over Scout (pictured, right), the community’s beloved pup, during cold weather. It uses facial recognition to alert guardians if Scout stays outside for more than 10 minutes.
Compass Communications Group was a long-time and trusted vendor to Meadow Brook MCF, and the case study reports that the interface is intuitive and easy to use. As a result, the implementation and training needs were minimal, moving the community quickly into up-to-date, enhanced security. For more details, read the full case study.
