LeadingAge signed on to a October 27, 2023, letter to CMS Administrator Chiquita Brooks-LaSure, pointing out the proposed staffing rule for nursing homes fails to acknowledge and include Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) as licensed nurses.

The letter was also signed by the American Assisted Living Nurses Association (AALNA); American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living; Association of Jewish Aging Services (AJAS); Lambda Psu Nu Sorority Inc.; National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy; National Association of Licensed Practical Nurses; National Association of State Veterans Homes; and the National Rural Health Association.
