LeadingAge Analysis: HUD’s “Expanding Access” Proposed Rule

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) issued a proposed rule on April 10 to adjust requirements for applicant criminal background screening conducted by HUD-assisted housing providers. This analysis reviews the current approach to criminal background screening, discusses the proposed changes, and compiles the most impactful regulatory documents impacting HUD policies. LeadingAge is compiling feedback on the proposal.
