In comments to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), LeadingAge urged the agency to withdraw its proposed rule, Establishing Flexibility for Implementation of Work Requirements and Term Limits, which allows work requirements and time limits in affordable housing programs. Our May 1, 2026 comments describe the harm that the proposed rule would inflict on older adults and the workforce that serves them, as well as the burden and cost that would fall on housing providers.
