LeadingAge partnered with other national stakeholders to send a letter to Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) last week asking for written confirmation that hospices can revert to pre-pandemic policies around telehealth utilization during routine home care visits.

We are seeking clarification on CMS’ policy around the flexibilities for counting routine telehealth home care visits as visits that were allowed during the pandemic, as they will end on May 11 with the Public Health Emergency (PHE). The hospice face-to-face recertification can be conducted via telehealth through December 2024.
