Cybersecurity is becoming even more important, with April setting a record for the most healthcare data breaches ever. Last month, breaches reached almost 60 senior living providers across four states. Premera Blue Cross also has been fined for HIPAA violations stemming from a cyberattack. Move Toward Value-Based Payment Halts Call9 Operations
Value-based healthcare is coming, and that reality helped halt operations for telehealth provider Call9, which served skilled nursing facilities. Despite Call9’s $34 million of venture capital and the significant attention the company garnered, particularly through their efforts to introduce a telemedicine bill called RUSH Act in Congress, investors’ concerns about the short-term success of its fee-for-service model stopped its services.
