In advance of the House Budget Committee’s February 13 mark up of its budget resolution, LeadingAge expressed our top concerns in a February 12 letter to Jodey Arrington (R-TX), committee chair. This communication follows dozens of meetings with congressional staff and thousands of messages to Hill offices about potential damages budget reconciliation could cause (through Medicaid cuts and the elimination of the tax exemption of municipal bonds) as well opportunities it presents (repeal of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ nursing home staffing mandate and increases to the low income housing tax credit).
