PDPM: Creating Efficiencies and Maximizing Reimbursement

Interim Payment Assessments (IPAs) are a critical piece to achieving accurate reimbursement under the Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM).  Providers need to load their PDPM arsenal by understanding how IPAs are correctly used and the risk associated with missing IPAs when they are indicated.  Gather your interdisciplinary team (IDT) and join self-proclaimed PDPM Nerd, Melissa Brown as she explores IPAs and guides the IDT to develop and implement “Stand Ups” that align with the new key metrics under PDPM.

This is an engaging and interactive session that will work in groups to simulate a team meeting to discuss the resident, calculate a PDPM score, and determine the per diem rate and RUG scores based on examples provided.  You’ll learn how and when you can properly capture isolation for COVID and beyond.  Avoid the common pitfalls and challenges that may be faced when COVID hits your organization.  Finally, a sample IPA Policy and Procedure will be reviewed including the elements designed to protect and guide your organization.
