Reliant Rehabilitation Webinar: Clinical Care Considerations During the COVID-19 Health Care Emergency
  • Jan 01, 1970
  • 3:00 pm EST

This presentation will explore therapy’s role in clinical care and interdisciplinary collaboration for the resident recovering from COVID-19, and the unique opportunities presented within an environment of isolation which enhance person-centered functional care and feelings of well-being and safety for our residents.

The respiratory virus, COVID-19, has made an astounding impact on our communities as well as the healthcare system nationwide. Our long term care residents are especially susceptible to contracting COVID-19 secondary to frailty and vulnerability expounded by underlying chronic medical conditions and the general effects of living in close proximity to one another. While nursing facility routines, practices, policy and procedures, and staffing have been modified extensively in an effort to combat this disease and protect our residents, the expectations of care delivery through effective interventions and compassionate care have not changed. Our patient’s access to quality care for the attainment of successful outcomes remains paramount, and we must equip the facility interdisciplinary team with tools and strategies to successfully delivery this care within the significantly modified current environment.

Speaker: Emily Rampmaier, MCD, CCC-SLP Vice President of Clinical Services Reliant Rehabilitation
