Urging U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) action, LeadingAge in a March 19 letter to agency Secretary Scott Turner emphasizes the need for the agency to continue its vitally important work of funding and administering critically important affordable housing programs. We emphasize that widely reported cuts to agency staff and closures of field office will create significant challenges in continuing operations. In addition, we call on HUD to administer legally obligated funds.
