LeadingAge and other long-term care associations met with representatives from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) on April 29 for the regularly scheduled CDC partners call.
CDC reviewed the latest respiratory virus data: respiratory virus vaccination rates are flatlined with flu being the most widely-accepted vaccination among nursing home residents, following by the COVID vaccine, then RSV vaccine. Cases and hospitalization rates for all three respiratory viruses are declining, with COVID representing the highest case rates among nursing home residents while flu accounts for the highest hospitalization rates among residents.
