New Ziegler White Paper Offers Workforce Solutions

BY LeadingAge

A new white paper by Ziegler, a LeadingAge Gold Partner with CAST Focus, discusses key workforce-related trends impacting the smart aging sector.

Understanding the Technology Ecosystem for Senior Living & Care – Volume 2: An Overview of Workforce Solutions” addresses recruitment and retention, shifting demographics, and the potential consequences of labor challenges for smart aging providers, according to a recent press release.

The white paper explains and presents Ziegler’s view of key smart aging workforce technology sub-sectors, and it lists a number of companies who are providing relevant and/or leading technology solutions that aim to help solve workforce challenges.

Ziegler hopes the document can achieve two goals, according to the release:

  • Help readers better understand the ecosystem of labor-focused technology solutions available to the smart aging community, and
  • Help providers explore the various ways workforce-centric technology can assist one’s staff and community.

The white paper presents several categories of workforce solutions that it says can achieve the following:

  • Help communities more easily identify “successful” job applicants and increase the chances of retention.
  • Improve staff communication and engagement.
  • Simplify and streamline staff scheduling and timekeeping functions.
  • Allow communities to quickly find qualified, affordable outsourced caregiving staff, if/when needed.
  • Increase efficiencies surrounding staff training and compliance procedures.
  • Help communities offer differentiating benefits to staff.

Each category lists relevant technology providers. Included are workforce management enterprise solutions, plus solutions for recruiting and on-demand staffing; scheduling, time, and attendance; and staff training.

A recent McKnight’s Senior Living article, “Tech will play critical role in combating labor challenges, other issues: Ziegler,” also noted older adults’ growing adoption of technologies such as telehealth, remote patient monitoring devices, and smart speakers and voice-activated calling devices that connect residents to friends and family members.

Ziegler anticipates publishing additional in-depth white papers in the future, to assist senior living and care providers, said the release. Download the white paper.
