The James L West Alzheimer's center is one of the nation's oldest and most respected providers of life-affirming, compassionate and highly-skilled dementia care and services.  We care for the whole family throughout the course of the disease.  Services include residential care, adult day care, indepth caregiver educational programs classes, speaker's bureau, and individual family counselling.

Features Include

Residential care:  our well-appointed center is located in the highly desirable downtown west/museum place neighborhood.  Our multi-level center is uniquely designed to include five households--each tailored to a different stage of dementia.  All-inclusive services include round the clock licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants in each household, as well as specialized activities, programs and amenities. People seek our services because of our expertise, staff longevity, and level of care.  We are dementia care professionals--We are not "memory care" assisted living. It is an important distinction that makes all the difference.

Adult Day Program--Open five days a week, from 7:30-6pm, the senior adult day program allows family caregivers to work, run errands, or just recharge, while their loved one socializes with friends in a secure, cottage-like setting.  Activities, meals, and medication administration are incuded in the rate, with other services available on request. 

Family caregiver training--for families who want to care for loved ones at home, the center offers a variety of classes designed to give home-based family members of friends the hands-on skills and confidence they need.  Numerous classes are offered in locations throughout the D allas/Fort Worth metroplex, and special topics can be addressed with advance notice.  Most classes are offered free of charge to the public.
