Burt Hudson
Burt oversees our Operations & New Business Development Team manages the operational aspects of the Association for effectiveness and efficiency to facilitate a high level of service and value to LeadingAge’s members. He works to ensure that the Association has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, governance structure, information technology and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. He identifies and develops new areas of growth in non-dues revenue, including business opportunities, corporate sponsorship, partnerships and new member services, assessing feasibility, testing ideas and creating business plans. He also monitors key operations including fundraising, corporate compliance, association and business insurance coverage.
In his previous role as Vice President of Business Affairs at America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) Burt managed the development and implementation of programs which comprised a significant portion of the associations’ non-dues revenue. Burt managed relationships with health insurance companies across the country, providing them with timely solutions for a rapidly changing industry.
During Burt’s tenure with AHIP he previously served as Deputy Director of Professional Services, Director of Business Relations and Development, and Executive Director of Insurance Education. Burt also served as chair of the associations’ HR Council, Education Council and IT Curriculum Advisory Group, and as a member of AHIP’s Core Values Workgroup.
Prior to joining the AHIP, Burt worked on Capitol Hill as a Business Developer and Communications Coordinator for the United States House of Representatives – House Call. In this capacity he evaluated the technical and online needs of congressional members for their DC, campaign, and district offices. Additionally, He worked as an Online Producer at CNN in Atlanta where he developed and executed strategies for TV and website content integration.
Burt currently serves on the board of directors of the Arc of Virginia, which promotes and protects the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and actively supports their full inclusion and participation in the community. Burt also serves on the Budget and Finance committee for the national ARC.
