United Church Homes and ThriveWell Tech Leaders Share Thoughts on New Tech

LeadingAge CAST Patron United Church Homes and ThriveWell Tech, a tech subsidiary of LeadingAge CAST Patron Asbury Communities, were featured in a recent Senior Housing News article.

“Where Senior Living Operators See the Most Promise Ahead for Tech Innovation” discusses the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and language processing programs, including using AI to analyze data and engage residents. Other topics included using remote monitoring, robotics, smart devices, and staffing scheduling assistance to support staff during a time of workforce shortages.

Michael Hughes, senior executive vice president and chief transformation and innovation officer of United Church Homes and Nick Patel, president of ThriveWell Tech, shared their insights for the story.

AARP Launches Free Digital Literacy Courses

In October, AARP and the Center for Digital Equity will launch a series of courses called Digital Literacy Charlotte: Tech Titans 50+. These free courses will increase digital literacy and help older adults use day-to-day technologies to help them make doctors’ appointments, use social media, and the like. The courses will be held at Charlotte Mecklenburg Public Libraries.
